With a 1 litre capacity, each bag is ideal for storing individual or multiple feeds, helping ensure youngstock receive vital colostrum quickly and safely.
These bags are designed for easy storage, allowing colostrum to be kept in the freezer for up to 12 months or in the fridge for up to 3 days without compromising quality. The transparent side makes it easy to see the colostrum inside and monitor feed levels during feeding, giving confidence that intake is progressing as expected.
The Trusti Colostrum Bag for Lambs and Kids is pasteurisation friendly, with the ability to fit up to eight bags in the Trusti Pasteur at one time. When it comes to feeding, the bags allow rapid thawing in warm water, which is significantly faster than using bottles. This helps save valuable time during busy lambing and kidding periods.
It is important to note that temperatures above 60°C and microwave heating can damage crucial antibodies, so gentle warming is recommended. For added convenience, there is also the option to attach a lamb/kid teat (ANT44T) directly to the bag, allowing straightforward feeding without transferring colostrum to another container.
