Shoof Chinball Harness
The Shoof Chinball Harness is a proven, reliable heat-detection aid designed to make identifying cows in season clear, accurate, and stress-free. Built as a robust harness–halter system, it features a cone-shaped unit beneath the chin containing a freely rotating stainless steel ball, working on the same principle as a ball-point pen.
As the bull mounts, the rotating ball applies ink directly to the cow’s back, leaving clear, highly visible markings only when cows are properly in season. This makes heat detection simple and reliable, supporting better timing for service and improved breeding efficiency.
The stainless steel ball container can be filled with ink in the colour of your choice, allowing easy visual identification across different groups or cycles. Each 0.5-litre fill marks approximately 25–30 cows, making it economical and practical for routine herd management. Marks typically fade naturally within 4 to 14 days, avoiding long-term staining while remaining visible long enough for effective monitoring.
